GTCC

MIR002
Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, also known as caprylic/capric triglyceride, abbreviated as GTCC, has a chemical formula of C21H40O5, CAS: 65381-09-1, and is a mixture of medium-chain fatty acids (caprylic acid and capric acid) and glycerol. It usually appears as a colorless, odorless, transparent liquid with low viscosity and good oxidative stability. Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride is widely used in the food, cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. In food, it can be used as an emulsifier, stabilizer and anti-adhesive agent to help improve the texture and shelf life of food. In cosmetics, it is often used as a moisturizer, emollient and emulsifier to enhance the moisturizing effect and use experience of the product. In addition, GTCC is also considered a safe food additive and has been listed as a generally recognized as safe (GRAS) substance by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Grade: Cosmetic grade
Maximum usage of leave-on products: 93.8%
Application in the cosmetics industry
The role of GTCC in cosmetics is mainly reflected in the following aspects:
Emulsifier stabilizer: GTCC can enhance the emulsification effect of cosmetics, making the product more uniform and delicate, thereby improving the quality and use experience of the product.
Antioxidant properties: Due to its antioxidant properties, GTCC helps to extend the shelf life of cosmetics and promotes the absorption of product ingredients by the skin, making the skin look more radiant.
Moisturizing effect: The high saturation nature of GTCC makes it an effective moisturizing ingredient that helps maintain the moisture balance of the skin.
Replacing traditional ingredients: In some cases, GTCC can be used as a substitute for white oil, lanolin or squalane, providing similar skin care effects, but may have better skin feel or stability.
Diluent and antifreeze: In cosmetic formulations, GTCC can also be used as a diluent to help adjust the consistency of the product and prevent the product from freezing in low temperature environments.
In summary, GTCC plays multiple roles in cosmetics, not only improving the texture and efficacy of the product, but also helping to improve the stability and applicability of the product.
